My first attempt to sew with the Elna 7000- let's just say I suck so bad I never figured out how to thread the needle throgh the contraption and that's using the user's manual, circa 1987. I stared at pictures, read and re-read steps, experimented. I still don't get it.

My mom has an Elna sewing machine! I bet you a shiny nickel that she'd be delighted to help.
Turns out, the darn thing was broken. I took it to Anne's for her to show me how to make it go and she had problems too. Even once the needle was properly threaded, it wasn't working right. I feel a little better now about being inept.
